In the morning sun,
Golden threads are spun.
Shards of rainbows greet the day;
Sparkling dewdrops smile
For a precious while.
Gather nectar while you may!
Soon the day is run,
Noon is halfway done.
Taught to work and not to play,
Lest you act the child,
Cramping proper style;
Yet – no virtue in dismay!
Evening fast begun
Over everyone.
Keep the restless thoughts at bay,
Strongly face the trial,
Step-by-stepping mile;
Simple path, enlightened way!

So many beautifully positive poems today and this is another stunning one, Crystal. I love the last sestet where you end with “Simple path, enlightened way!” You’re speaking my language here!
You have captured the day from morning light. I like the thought of gathering nectar while you may. I liked to gather as much as I can to sweeten those sour days.
Nice meter and rhyme.
Now that is a nicely executed Alouette, Crystal, and full of positivity.
I like how you wove echoes of familiar sayings into the poem.
lovely lyrical touch to this form – love the idea of
“Gather nectar while you may”
This is a softer version of ‘revelry’ and ‘taps’….a day full of beauty, lived with an open heart and mind, soul.
beautiful lyrical sentiment.
Quite the meditative experience! Loved it.
