We always reach for the next big thing.
A place to belong and some meaning to bring.
A cause to campaign for, a light on the scene.
Contentment is something to get, not to be.
We reach for the brass ring, while dawn breaks–unseen!

My response to Björn’s Quadrille prompt using the word “dawn.” Come join us, read, and comment at

I LOVE the rhythm here… and yes sometimes we should just look for the dawn instead of craving for more.
Unseen… so mysterious.
We take it for granted don’t we ~ I always appreciate dawn, specially during winter season ~
We always reach for the next big thing……………. yes, when we should be happy with what we have already. NIce
Nice expression of the idea that we miss the dawn focusing on the next big thing.
I like the rhyming in this piece. Well done. 🙂
Timely and reflective piece. 🙂
So sad that we let the glory of a new dawn go unnoticed because we are to wrapped up in “seeking contentment”
Good points made with clever rhyme.
Beautifully optimistic! ❤️
