Glass Houses
by Frederick Douglass Grimes, III
Where do you live?
What’s your address?
Do you reside on
Live and Let Live Blvd?
Or is your happy home on
Judgment Ave?
You must ask yourself this question…
Or not,
only if you care enough
to consider your neighbors.
We all live
in life’s glass houses,
and no one is perfect –
even relatively close.
Think for a minute.
Life would be boring
if we all were perfect!
We would instantly know
what our neighbors think of us,
and that could cause many problems.
As life is now,
anyone can tell you
anything.
And who’s to know
if it be truth or fiction?
What a world that would be indeed!
That old adage always rings true:
Those who live in glass houses
should not
throw
stones!
And remember…
We all live
in life’s
glass houses!

I like this description of these two different kinds of homes: “Do you reside on
Live and Let Live Blvd?
Or is your happy home on
Judgment Ave?”
And the reference to Judgment Ave as a happy home.
We are all on this great evolving ride. Best not to upset the balence as the forward motion sweeps us forward through time…
O… I do agree… to ask for perfection in others will always break glass.
There’s always one in every crowd who loves to throw stones, even as they live in their glass house. Does that make me judgemental? Not trying to be a smartaleck but what do we do with the stone throwers?
Since all actions have consequences, then we should expect stones in return. 🤔
Then we get into “an eye for an eye”, then “an eye for an eye will blind the world”. How do we get out of the cycle of madness?
You are so right. Cycle of madness indeed. However, I maintain that whatever we give, we receive in return.
You must mean karma 😉
Yes.
