A shiny chest of wonderment,
Of wishes and of dreams;
A brilliant box of hopefulness
And possibilities!
When soft inspiring breezes
Flutter magic strings,
They carry off my spirit
On clouds of melodies!
So thank you, bless-ed builders
For the joy your fretboards bring!

My response to Kim’s very interesting “Fretboard of Poetry” Quadrille prompt at
dVerse
and today’s
#Ragtag Daily Prompt #RDP #Breeze.
Other Musical Poems
First, because Kim lives near the coast:
Song of the Sea
And, of course, the theme song of Mystical Strings ❤
Nice use of the prompt. I love stringed instruments a lot too. Guitar then the cello are my faves.
I’ve always wanted to play cello. I played violin as a teenager, but shoulder injuries keep me from playing now. My husband tells me he will hold it, and I can play. 🙂
I like your take on this prompt. Nicely done.
Very nicely done! The guitar is a wonderful instrument that can transport one with just one note or a whole flurry! Your poem describes it well!
I play the violin – love it. Your take on the prompt is wonderful – joy!
Beautiful!
I love the poem and your song, especially the last line, “We are the mystical strings.” So bright and shining.
I was worried we might have worrisome quadrilles but I’m pleased to read about so many fretboards of joy! ‘A brilliant box of hopefulness’ is a fitting metaphor for any string instrument.
Great poem, love the flow and rhyme! Nice piece Crystal!
I like the title….the word joy and fret together seem to be antithetical until fret is realized in a fretboard of a beautiful stringed instrument. Nice one!
Beautiful and rhythmic!
