I used to play my instruments and sing.
I wrote a song each week for several years.
The furthest I get now is just to think
And wonder why, which always turns to tears.
The feelings in my life are sad but clear,
The circumstances changed, but for the best?
There’s benefit in breaks and needed rest;
I feel the choice was taken and not made.
I’ve lost my songful spirit, now depressed.
I pray the Muses hasten to my aid!

Dizain #3 for
dVerse.
The Trail Inside
(Ukulele, written 2017)
I sure hope you feel better soon. What the world needs more than anything now is a joyful song. May your heart and mind heal, and your heart and lips get back to the work of making art.
Be blessed, sister.
Nice line: “I feel the choice was taken and not made.” It makes me wonder how to distinguish between taken and made choices. For who feel the must has left may the muse return.
I pray so too! At least your poetic muse is still on board. I like the fervour with which you imbue this perfectly executed dizain.
When the muse flies and one feels like others made choices leading to their flight, you’ve got some more sorting to do. I like how you constructed your dilemma here.
I hope your musical muse returns from its break soon, Crystal. Thankfully, your poetic muse has taken up the slack. Best wishes that things improve.
