Christmas Dance
Merry Christmas everyone!
My song today is a zither arrangement of a carol you probably know, just not by its original name. The 1924 lyrics are still under copyright, so I don’t sing them here. However, the tune we know as “Ding Dong Merrily on High” was first published in 1588 under the title “Brane de l’Official.” Here I call it “Christmas Dance” to make things simpler!
Please enjoy this arrangement, and your holiday celebrations, or daily celebrations for that matter!
Instrument: Zither (Plucked psaltery or lap harp)
Tuning: A4 = 432HZ
Silent Night in Irish Gaelic – Music and Lyrics
“Silent Night (Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht)” was originally written in German in the 1820’s. It has been translated into many languages and was sung at the same time in German, French, and English during World War I. Here it is in Irish Gaelic, with lyrics linked below for those brave enough to try them!
Wishing all of you a blessed and beautiful Christmas Eve!
Instrument: Guitar
First Night Chanukah Blessings – Music
These are the traditional blessings said or sung on the first night of Chanukah. I sing them here with ukulele and send blessings to all my Jewish brothers and sisters and to all who see the Chanukah lights!
There’s a Song in the Air – Advent Week 4 Music
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, a traditional hymn I sang as a child. I’m singing with a bit of a cold, and playing with a brace on one hand, but nevertheless here it is. 🙂 Enjoy!
Instrument: Zither (Lap harp or plucked psaltery)
Tuning: A4 = 432HZ
Yule Chorus – Lyrics and Music
My contribution to the Yuletide, sung to the tune of “Jingle Bells” and played on ukulele.
Lyrics
Sun has come
Sun is gone
Sun will shine again.
Longest night, it’s time to light
Your inner fire of change.
Yule!
Sun has come
Sun is gone
Sun will shine again.
Longest night, it’s time to light
Your inner fire of change!
Czech Carol – Advent Week 3 Music
It’s little known that what later became a popular Christmas song, is based on a traditional Czech carol. The timeless tune has had many incarnations, arrangements, recordings, mixes, and performances. While credit cannot be given for the original because it is unknown, the carol is enjoyed to this day in the hearts and homes of many. I hope you enjoy my zither arrangement!
