The earth is teeming with delights!
We have a few, but want them all.
They beckon with a siren call
And offer solace in the night.
But o the folly, o the fright!
Awakening upon the worst,
We find our hoped-for blessings cursed;
Our choices hasty and unwise…
But we can choose the Spirit’s eyes
And focus on the Heavens first!

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 29 (FRIGHT) This week, it’s the A rhyme line.
In folly frenzy finds us caught
When running races we are off
With dashed decisions’ desperate calls
Inviting us to folly’s halls.
By taking tests and testing time,
We rest in rhythm’s reasoned rhyme.
With Nature’s knowing we are fed
By bearing boldly, being blessed!
When frenzy’s folly faces fate,
We wait on wisdom’s choice to make!

My response to
DVerse Poetics: Folly.
Pronounced “Sheebeg, Sheemore,” this Irish folk tune is often attributed to Turlough O’Carolan. “Sí” means “fairy mound.” “Sí Bheag” and “Sí Mhór” are two hills in Ireland’s County Leitrim, said to be ancient burial sites.
This is a beautiful piece, whether played as an air or a waltz–as it is here, and I hope you enjoy it on zither!
Let’s all breathe a collective sigh of relief! All I have left of the Theocentric Psychology Doctoral Program is the dissertation!
Granted, it needs to be 15,000 words and have a certain number of sources. I don’t have all the requirements in my head. I need to read the dissertation handbook again. In fact, I don’t even have a topic yet, though I’ve been contemplating several. To a certain extent, my topic depends on what materials I can access and cite with relative ease. I.e. I don’t want to buy 20 print books and have to scan them with OCR, thank you very much!
Anyway, if you pray, send positive energy, good vibes, best wishes, or anything positive, I sure would appreciate you sending some my way! I thank you in advance!
Oh, and if you have any Halloween treats, have an extra one for me! 🙂
We don’t know who wrote “Fairest Lord Jesus,” also called “Beautiful Savior.” However, we do know it was a German hymn entitled “Schönster Herr Jesu.” The melody is a Silesian folk song often called “Crusaders’ Hymn,”, and its authorship is also unknown. The melody and German lyrics were first printed together in 1842. It is a beautiful, relaxing melody, and I hope you enjoy listening to it on recorder and lyre!
This arrangement can be played on a lap harp that goes down to G below Middle C, and up to the G that is 2 above Middle C. In Scientific pitch notation, this is G3-G5. In other words, you need 2 octaves, starting on G below Middle C. If you would like an audio tutorial to learn this tune, please

One Light is all we need and All we are.
Through Light we live, we spark, we shine like stars.
The All There Is, One Life, no you or I.
Truth breathes One Breath, no end to Life so high.
We think, “What if?” We ask; our mind says, “BUT!”
No change in laws of who and where and what.
Go in! Go in to seek, to see, to find
One Light, One Life, right here, right now, in Mind!
Do hope, do love, do live and be your best;
Light guides all back to One; in Whom we rest.

This is a “10×10” or “Vocabularicon” Poem, developed by Ronovan. I can’t say I’ve met the challenge and used great vocabulary in mine, but there it is. It’s not that easy… Try one if you dare!

Stand up! Write on! Be brave, my friends!
I used to await the night with dread,
because I couldn’t sleep
Or had nightmares when I did drift off.
There was no cozy cabin in the woods for me,
no memories of picnics with deviled eggs,
no land of blossoms,
no trusting unicorn prancing for a ride.
And so, I became a night owl,
even as a child.
Being older now,
I still don’t sleep well at night,
and I still have nightmares at times.
Yet I await the night
like the dawning of the Age of Aquarius,
for this is when ideas take shape.
Cotton clouds drift across my mind,
becoming day dreams turned reality.
It’s night!
It’s showtime!

My response to Linda Kruschke’s
Paint Chip Poetry Prompt #43: To Night.
Music draws me closer,
Like a moth to a flame.
I enter velvet sound
And sigh with inner peace.

Leaves drifting from trees
Light reflects, receeds, renews
Rainbow colors fall.
Rainbow colors Fall
Orange, red, browns darkening
Nature calls for change.
Nature calls for change
Within our bodies ringing
Tides that ebb and flow.
Tides of ebb and flow
Earth and sky and sea respond
As below, above.
