Open-hearted #Poem

O that our hearts of polished stone
Would ride like cowboys in the night!
Come quickly now to help just one
And stay until the morning light!
With mind and spirit shining bright
And body comforted by touch,
We’d feel less lonely in our plight.
I don’t believe I ask too much!

O Rocky Mountains, deep in tone,
Give us your song of strength and might!
Help all remember, small and grown,
That each one has a place in life!
And whether ag-ed or a sprite,
Compassion true is not a crutch.
A gift of love, the heart’s delight!
I don’t believe I ask too much!

O that our hearts of polished stone
Would ride like cowboys in the night!
Come quickly now to help just one
And stay until the morning light!
With mind and spirit shining bright
And body comforted by touch,
We’d feel less lonely in our plight.
I don’t believe I ask too much!

O Prince of Peace, You, Love and Light!
Let us release the fear we clutch!
And open to Your loving sight–
I don’t believe I ask too much!

On the Horizon #SixSentenceStories

Original Song on Ukulele

Well, the New Year is finally coming!

That means a new horizon for everyone–or at least, for those of us who choose to see it that way.

Right now I’m asking myself what is on my horizon?

Increased well-being, more hope, and the ability to see and embrace new opportunities!

I would also say less stress, but I’m a realist.

So, I’ll say choosing better ways to handle stress and more positive, productive responses in emotional situations are on my horizon!

Be the Spark #Decima #Poem

There is a Light, a tiny spark,
A miracle we can behold!
So simple, yet it’s brave and bold
And dims not, even in the dark.

How we can miss its micro mark!
But still it burns quite near, not far–
So close we cannot see the Star…
It’s placed within us to provide
The Light we need to see, to guide.
We must re-learn: It’s who we are!

“Light” #Yule #Christmas #Music

Download Mp3

This is an instrumental version of a
Metaphysical Christmas song
I wrote in 2010 and posted here in 2012. It affirms the birth of Light, or Christ Consciousness that can occur within, and for, each one of us, at any time. Christ Consciousness is simply the awareness of oneness, connectedness, positivity, peace, healing, and love that is innately ours. Living in a stressful world, we tend to lose awareness of the Christ Mind, but It is still there, within us and available to us at all times.

I hope you enjoy both versions of “Light,” the one with lyrics linked above, and this one with ukulele, Oriole soprano recorder, and viola! And no matter what you choose to call it, I hope you recognize the Light within yourself, now and always!

The Open Door #Decima #Poem

The door will open if we knock–
For everyone, not just a few.
And that includes Uniquely You!
You hold the key to fit the lock.

No expiration, time or clock,
But readiness of soul and mind
To claim the peace and love we find.
No need to wait until we fail
For one last hope or holy hail.
The place is here, and now’s the time!

Self-deception #Decima #Poem

How we take the scarring, scraping
Given by the lives we’ve chosen!
In our prison, rigid, frozen,
While the door is open, gaping!

For we live the lives we’re shaping
By our choices, thoughts, believing.
True acceptance starts relieving.
Earth is anything but stable;
Let us cling to Heaven’s cable!
Keep the Truth and stop deceiving!

This was a hard one for me, using the word “stable” in the D line of a Decima! Written for
