Miracle

This song was written for a child’s welcoming ceremony. In other traditions and religions, this would be a baptism, christening, baby naming, Wiccaning, etc. It acknowledges the child’s God-purpose and the parents’ and others’ support of that purpose–whatever it may be.

We are all someone’s child, and children of God; so Miracle is for everyone!

And to Aaron, happy birthday! May God continue to bless you, and others through you!

Children

These are little ones before they become “adult” and prone to judgment, prejudice, hate, narrow-mindedness–need I go on? You know, all the things they learn from the rest of us…

Instead of conforming them to our molds and “raising good kids,” wouldn’t it be better for all of us, and the world, if we conformed more to their unadulterated standards?

Wedding Prayer – More than Ceremony

Contrary to its title, this isn’t a wedding song. 😀 Or it isn’t just a wedding song. It’s for anyone in a loving, intimate, romantic relationship. And should you happen to extend that to a wedding or union ceremony, this song would fit in. But ceremony itself does not create love! It must already exist and be acknowledged within, and between people. No imitation or appearance alone will do. It is with true love in mind that I share this song.

Self-love: Can it Last?

If Real and if True
And shining within,

The Key

Because the essence of Music, Love, and God is The One.

In any key of music
the first note of the scale
is 1.

In any key of music
the last note of the scale
is 1.

A perfect octave
is the distance
from 1 to the next 1.

Same pitch, same name
just higher or lower
and still the 1.

That’s why it’s called perfect
the 1 is the beginning
and the end.

In any key of music
the real key is
oneness.

The true key is
wholeness
completeness.

The 1 returns to itself
alpha and omega
beginning and end.

In any key of music
the 1
is first and last,

root and octave,
1 and 8,
in the image of God.

And the key
is oneness
in his Presence.

Love – The Simplest of Songs

I wrote this in 2003, and it still rings true for me. In honor of
February and its vibrations of love,
this seemed like a great song to share.

On a side note, purple has gradually become one of my favorite colors. I won’t go into why and how… Suffice it to say that, thankfully, people do change, and do learn to embrace more than we used to! ❤

Deliverance

Deliverance came all wrapped up
Nice and neat
With a big red bow on top.

Love came all warm and cozy
Clear and bright
Like a blanket and a prism all at once.

Peace came like a tidal wave
Knocking over all strife and struggle
Replacing it with calm ripples.

If you believe this
You’re more delusional
Than even the clinically insane!

It doesn’t work like that
But how we wish it did!
The Knight in shining armor, the Prince, the POOF! And all is well!

No, but there is a way
A way of peace
A way of Light.

The way of Life
Is going deliberately, persistently, consciously
Through it all.

The path of Light
Is the journey through darkness
To our own center, which is Life’s core.

The Truth of Life
Is Choice
Awareness, of, and radiating from the Spirit within.

Choose from that Spirit
Not from the intellect, the fear, the reasoning
Let that Spirit guide these “children.”

And be your Self, a blessing, blessed
Be your Truth, a Light, enlightened
Be your fulfillment, a Love, beloved!

Be it right here, right now
For now is the hour of deliverance
And You are your Deliverer!

The Spirit of Truth

The Spirit of Truth lives within me, as a Light that will not be put out. I can cover it with blankets, tar, bushels, but nothing, nothing will truly turn out the Light!

That is the miracle, the Good News, the Glad Tidings! That no matter what I allow myself to get wrapped up in, Spirit awaits me, just inside! Where all is quiet, where all is known, where Love conquers all, Spirit waits.

All I need to do is knock. But so often I waste my time standing at the door, wondering if Spirit will really answer! I don’t believe it, so I don’t knock. But this is futility at its finest!

Spirit, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, always answers! I wonder what the answer will be, still standing on the doorstep, stamping my feet with cold, my heart full of dread. Because what if it’s not what I want? What if the answer is not what I think it should be?

I know deep down that it’s still the answer, and that whatever I think I want, is only from my limited perspective. But limitation, can only see limitation! So again I am in awe of the miracle, the Grace, the Love that somehow, some way, I can return to Spirit!

Even when my mind is in distress, even when fear dictates my words and actions, even when I see no way out, there is a part of me that knows!

There is a part of me that cares, loves, waits for me to ask, seek, knock, so it can throw open the gates of Consciousness to my weary mind!

And lead it back, restored, renewed, in tune with the voice of the Spirit of Truth that is sure and eternal.

The Gift of Self

Let There be Light!

Nothing from nothing is nothing
Creations create in the space
Destruction transforms in the darkness
And Light is the Truth in its place.

Spirit is God breeding passion.
Faith in the Truth does the works.
Love creates wealth that is lasting.
And the soul is a child God birthed.

God is Intelligent thinking.
Hope is Self-knowing at night.
Order’s the Force that is linking.
And the soul is made whole by the Light.
