Once a flea who had picked up a cold
Exclaimed, “Sneezing is tiring and old!
How it fills up my head!
I would take to my bed,
But for missing my living unfold!”

Attend to Universal Laws
And better life with this one turn,
For at your core the Lifeforce burns!
With or without you, It evolves!
The Lifeforce is First Light and Cause,
Yet never does impose Its Will
And Purpose that we must fulfill.
We’re free to pick and free to choose
And take effect whiche’er we do,
Evolving Life—for Good or ill!

When a din started out in the back,
How they took a dim view of the cat!
But you can’t blame the minx,
For whatever you think,
She found treasure in mountains of trash!
Appreciation
Inner joy bubbling outward
Dispersing sadness
Affection touching
Infiltrating countless hearts
Minister of All
Admiration spreads
Inspiring bigger blessings

Who are you… Really?
Are you curious to know,
Or scared to find out?
Wisdom within, quiet, sure:
Soul, heart, mind, body of Life.
The word of the year:
Transparency! Instead of
Making claims, just be!
If I had scheduled for today
The poem I wrote yesterday,
I wouldn’t have to write a new,
Yet shabby one
For April Fools!
Tomorrow’s better; so I hope!
Today, my friends, is not a joke!
The gears are turning round and round!
O hear that awful grinding sound?
They’re old and tired, full of woe,
And soon, my friends, they’ll have to go…
They’ve served me well. They’ve done their bit.
But finally, my gears are stripped!

In my mind I return to the year I was 7 and in first grade. The puppets are the best part of the day, when Mrs. Basta tells a story or teaches us something with the lamb and other animals. I also like lunch. But perhaps my true favorite thing, even better than the puppets, is recess!
On the playground I collect fallen cherry buds with my friend, Iris. I put them in one of those little Halloween pumpkin buckets, the ones most kids use for trick-or-treating. I include grass, dirt, rocks, and whatever else I can find. Maybe I hope these seeds of potential will grow!
