If you go down in the woods today,
Beware of the drifting snow!
You’re going down in the woods today?
Remember your trusty phone!
Beneath the trees where nobody sees,
The covered ice anticipates feet…
Today’s the day the teddy bears have no picnic!
—
Surely you’ve heard “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic,” the song on which I based this no-picnic Quadrille… Apologies to all my teddy bear friends–I have 3, plus a unicorn, a sheep, and a pumpkin!

dVerse Quadrille #122: Go.
“I called you! Why didn’t you answer?”
Several responses race through my mind,
all of them true, but some are unkind.
“I was out,
working,
or sleeping.”
“I’m tired of hearing your voice!”
“I’m not God;
I don’t have to answer!”

41 words for Sammi’s
Weekend Writing Prompt #197: Call.
O come and look right through my skin
With eyes of otherworldly grace;
You’ll see our Essence in this face,
Inviting you to look within!
Kaleidoscope of time and place
Where future, past and present curl.
It’s yours and mine. Just give a whirl!
Let’s move beyond our circumstance!
Uncomfortable, yet here’s a chance
To let our tenderness unfurl!

Inquisitive bird
Beckons to reality
My soul awakens.
Deep within myself I ask,
“What is my reality?”

Gold isn’t just simply a rock,
But something to knock off your socks!
A thought you can’t miss
That inspires your bliss!
But it comes in from out of the box!

A Limerick for
#Threethingschallenge #506: Box, miss, gold.
At times we all fervently wish
To travel alone, steal away…
And keep daily struggles at bay
Or banish them all with a swish!
But life is like choosing a dish–
Some options we like, others not.
Just one is too much, if a lot;
We need other tastes for the spice.
Yes, even the ones less than nice.
We’re here, and we have what we’ve got!

I bought a Valentine’s em-bracelet
With tiny heart and harp that grace it.
And wrapped around my wrist I place this
Token of eternal traces–
Of harmony and notes unfading…
My life’s a song, ongoing, changing,
and love as music helps me play it!
