Music’s Mystery

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
–Plato

I’ve heard it said that only human beings have been given the gift of music; that only people create songs, sing and serenade their souls with this most magical and uplifting form of communication and communion. Yet, should we not consider the song of the lark? The haunting ballads of the whales? The mournful call of the wolf? The robin’s lyrical laugh at dawn and dusk? The crickets that serenade the nighttide? The burbles of monkeys swaying in the trees? The laughing of the hyena?

Who is to say that in their melodic tunes, caterwauls, howls, wails, and other worldly vocalizations there is not some measure of music. Why should we be the only ones to sing praise, to croon our love, and to bewail our distress? How can we know, in truth, in honesty, that the deliberate scree of the hawk, the piercing bugle of the elk, the chattering…

Master

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
–Matthew 6:24 World English Bible (WEB)

A reminder to seek God’s Kingdom (Heaven within) first, and everything we need will be added (Matt. 6:33). And while we’re thankful for degrees, jobs, projects, our families, friends, and accomplishments in the world, we cannot serve the world and gain lasting security.

He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?
–Luke 9″23-25 (WEB)

With this knowing in my heart, I gratefully acknowledge my Master of Metaphysical Science degree (4/4/14). But the credit is not mine; without God working through me, I would not have this and indeed would not have Life at all.

Master

Not master of others
Or master of things,
I’m master of nothing,
For God is my King.

So deep in my Heart,
My Soul and my Mind,
I turn to the Master
Beyond space and time.

Not tied to a program
Conferring degrees,
The Lord of Creation
Is Master of me.

And all that “I do”
Is done by The One.
For Love is a river,
And through me it runs.

And when I can’t see Him,
I reach for the Truth,
For to master myself
He carries me through.

Not master of others
Or master of things,
I’m master of nothing,
For God is my King.

Do You Know?

.
.

Do you know how much I Love you?

Do you Feel My Presence when the Night is Dark?

When the Path is Difficult?

Do you Understand How Greatly I Care?

That My Love is Unconditional?

That you Need Change Nothing?

I Love Everything about you.

I Only Want to Bless you.

How I Long for you to stop and Hear My Whisper.

Shouting down from the Vastness of Love, Reaching for you.

How I Long to Share this Love with you.

Will you Pause from your haste?

Will you close your eyes to the world and Listen for My Voice of Love?

Will you Trust Me, that I will neither Blame you nor Forsake you?

I Love you, O My Beloved.

Will you Love Me in Return?

Morgan's avatarBooknVolume

Sing for the Sweet Sweet Beauty of Love

Sing for the Sweet Sweet Beauty of Love,
Sing as the Lark’s Song Rising Above,
Sing in the Night when the Shadows Roar,
Sing in the Daytide’s Streaming colour,
Sing when Hate and Vice Hammer Down,
Sing when No one Else is Around,
Sing for the Sweet Sweet Beauty of Love,
Sing in Gentle Grace like the Mourning Dove,
Sing in Passion with Fire’s Ablaze,
Sing Endlessly, O Sing for Days!
Sing in Joy when the Heart is Sad,
Sing in Laughter when You cannot be Glad,
Sing Sing for the Sweet Sweet Beauty of Love,
Sing when there is Nothing at all to Sing Of!

Begin

Begin

Search the Depths of your Heart for Love
Seeking in your Spirit for Life;
Challenge the Everyday Clutter and Chaos
That Tries to O’rewhelm you with Strife.

Ask for the Presence of Kindness
To Shine in your Smile Each Day;
Yearn for Compassion to Linger
When indifference tries to steal you away.

Desire Peace to Abide in your breast,
Long for Patience to Remain,
Walk in Joy when the sun shines,
And Smile when Life turns to Rain.

In this way you will Shimmer
And Glow with the Light from Within,
Drawing others to that Sweet Charity;
Come, Bend your Knee, and Begin.

Wisdom Quotes #16……and Kabir spoke

neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.”

(1) “I laugh when I hear that the fish in the water is thirsty.

You don’t grasp the fact that what is most alive of all is inside your own house;
and you walk from one holy city to the next with a confused look!

Kabir will tell you the truth: go wherever you like, to Calcutta or Tibet;
if you can’t find where your soul is hidden,
for you the world will never be real!”

(2) “The Lord is in me, the Lord is in you, as life is in every seed, put false pride away and seek the Lord within..”

(3) “The Kazi is searching the words of the Koran, and instructing others:
but if his heart be not steeped in that love, what does it avail, though he be a teacher of men?”
