Love You like He Does

OOO…
God help me love you like He does.

1. Everything I do should be for you.
Every word I say should light your way.
Every thought I hold should be a comfort to your soul,
‘Cause I want to love you like He does.
Refrain:

2. Falling on my face, He gives me grace.
Bowing on my knees, He hears my pleas.
Crying to our Lord is making all my motives pure,
‘Cause I want to love you like He does.
Refrain:

3. As long as I live, may I forgive.
In seeking may I find He keeps me kind.
And all the love I see, I know it’s not about just me,
‘Cause I want to love you like He does.
Refrain: (Twice)

God help me love you like He does (2x).

Refrain:
Let me love you like He does
And brighten up your day.
May I love you like Jesus
Each step of the way.
[Ya know] we might float through Heaven
Or crawl through Hell,
But let this be the same:
God help me love you like He does.

Love the Broken Ones

The Work of Love

You make me laugh and cry like no one can
With smiles and tears to end and start anew.
Your love does free and bind with tender hand
And break down walls to build me up with truth.
*Unfettered now, I hold on tight to you.
You carry me away to bring me home,
And in the dark, you light the winding road.

A Chaucerian stanza for Frank’s prompt at
dVerse.
Personally I don’t like the sound of 7 lines. Six or 8 feel better. I originally wrote this in 6, without the starred line, then realized it wasn’t true to form. The poem turned out well, but this one simple stanza took a long time to write!

Virtuous Woman

Proverbs 31:10-13, 20, 25-31 (NIV)

Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

Virtuous Woman – Lyrics

Refrain:
Lord, make me a virtuous woman,
Hard-working, caring, and kind,
Keeping a home for my family,
And living Your design.

1. Give me the talent to make
All that my hands can supply.
Grant me the Spirit to manage it well
And bring my husband pride.
Refrain:

2. Cooking and planting to grow,
Nurturing children and seeds.
Lord, may I be a good wife to my husband
And gladly meet his needs.
Refrain:

3. May I have extra to share
And be giving and humble and meek.
For in this way I inherit the kingdom
And make my life complete.
Refrain:

Lord, make me a virtuous woman
Who is living Your design!

Woman

Only a woman’s eyes can tell.

“They see the whole but they don’t see the stitches.
They don’t see the speech of the creator in the work
of the needle. We mend. We women turn things inside out
and set things right. We salvage what we can
of human garments and piece the rest into blankets.
Sometimes our stitches stutter and slow.
Only a woman’s eyes can tell. Other times,
the tension in the stitches might be too tight because of tears,
but only we know what emotion went into the making.
Only women can hear the prayer.”

Singing Sweet

If you received this post by email, click the URL to hear this song.

Sometimes she sings loud
And seems too strong and proud.
But always, always singing sweet!

1. When the thunder rolls
And flood rains drench the land,
We wonder why the Mother
Has to force her hand.
But after rain is sun
And after clouds a bow,
In every storm a reason
Greater than we know.

Sometimes she sings loud
And seems too strong and proud.
But always, always singing sweet!

2. When death comes to call
And take our love away,
We wonder why the Mother
Couldn’t let them stay.
But through the grief is peace
‘Cause every part is whole.
We’re safe within her keeping,
Every single soul.

Sometimes she sings loud
And seems too strong and proud.
But always, always singing sweet!

3. When we’re down so low
And cannot stand the hurt,
We wonder why the Mother
Lets us feel like dirt.
We ask her for a sign
Of all-embracing Love,
Before, behind, within us,
Under and above.

So we can sing it loud,
Stand tall and strong and proud,
And always, always singing sweet!

Sing your Spirit loud,
Stand tall and strong and very proud,
And always, always singing sweet!

Eyes to Heaven: A Blind Man’s Prayer

Eyes to Heaven: A Blind Man’s Prayer

by Frederick Douglass Grimes, III

Dear Lord, Thank you for this day. Because of you I woke up this morning. Because of you I can feel the sun’s rays on my face this morning.

We have traveled many miles together, halfway around the world and back. You were by my side the entire way. For that I am forever grateful. You have been with me through the good times and surely the bad also, never forsaking me, just trying to show me the right path to take. For 17 years I have been In visual darkness, but you have shown me spiritual brightness. I now know that the only vision that I need Is the vision of your love. You have placed so many beautiful people In my life that no matter what trials and tribulations I face, I know that you will always be by my side.

Only you know what Is next for me In my life. I just pray that you will continue to make me a good person. Give me wisdom, courage, and compassion to always help others the way that they have helped me. Your love Is what makes every day worth living. God, bless the entire world!

Heaven Sent

You keep me and sleep me
on dark chilly nights.
You wake me and take me
to stand in the light.

You feed me and need me
in trials and tears.
You feel me and heal me
from worries and fears.

You charm me and warm me,
so gentle and kind.
You thrill me and fill me
with laughter inside.

You know me and show me
the beauty of life.
You sing me and bring me
a song of delight.

You hold me, enfold me
in love without bounds.
For Heaven has given
the blessing we found.
