Labor of Love #Music #Poem

Reblogging a Labor Day song I wrote in 2015. Read below for lyrics, and please click the Play button to listen. I hope you enjoy it!

Recognizing Labor Day in the United States, and for anyone – everyone! – who is about the Father’s business (Luke 2:49).

Instrument: Brio – Red cedar concert ukulele

Refrain:
[And] may your work be a labor of love.
May you serve the Father in peace.
So on Earth as in Heaven above,
Giving thanks while planting the seeds.

1. Take heart, take heart,
And do your part
To plant the fertile ground.
He knows, He knows
Where water flows
And ready soil abounds.
Refrain:

2. You ask, you ask
And do the task
That God has planned for you.
He lives, He lives
And through you gives
The harvest of good fruit.
Refrain:

3. Each day, each day
You go your way.
O take the path of Light.
And do, and do
Your labor true
With heart and soul and mind.
Refrain:

4. You see, you see
The tiny seed
With miracles inside.
It grows, it grows,
It flow’rs and shows
The blooming of a life.
Refrain:

Come unto Me – Metaphysical Song

Consider the Lilies #Music

Download “Consider the Lilies” Mp3

1. Consider the lilies.
They don’t toil or spin.
They open their petals
So the Light can come in!
They live every day
In such splendor arrayed!
Are we not more worthy than they, than they?
Are we not more worthy than they?

2. Consider our Father,
As below, so above,
Who created the lilies
In beauty and Love!
We can live every day
In His splendor arrayed!
Are we not more worthy than they, than they?
Are we not more worthy than they?

Recorded with 2 Spirit Flutes crafted by High Spirits Flutes. Both are tuned in 432HZ. They are the bass in E minor and mid A minor flutes. These are so beautiful!

Also Koshi Ignis/Fire chime, Koshi Terra/Earth chime, Rhythm Rock shaker, pear branch Little Spirit shaker, ukulele, and voice. Yes, I sing in this one! I don’t sing often enough, but I’m working to change that.

For a related song and the New Testament reference for both, have a listen to

“Light” #Yule #Christmas #Music

This is an instrumental version of a
Metaphysical Christmas song
I wrote in 2010 and posted here in 2012. It affirms the birth of Light, or Christ Consciousness that can occur within, and for, each one of us, at any time. Christ Consciousness is simply the awareness of oneness, connectedness, positivity, peace, healing, and love that is innately ours. Living in a stressful world, we tend to lose awareness of the Christ Mind, but It is still there, within us and available to us at all times.

I hope you enjoy both versions of “Light,” the one with lyrics linked above, and this one with ukulele, Oriole soprano recorder, and viola! And no matter what you choose to call it, I hope you recognize the Light within yourself, now and always!

Seek First #Decima #Poem

The earth is teeming with delights!
We have a few, but want them all.
They beckon with a siren call
And offer solace in the night.

But o the folly, o the fright!
Awakening upon the worst,
We find our hoped-for blessings cursed;
Our choices hasty and unwise…
But we can choose the Spirit’s eyes
And focus on the Heavens first!

The Voice of God #Poem

Read Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV)

One morning I awakened,
And I heard the voice of God!
“I have given you fresh coffee
And a brand-new coffee pot.

“Your breakfast is provided,
With your lunch and dinner, too,
For the love of my creation.
Yes, my child, just for you.

“You finish what you started,
Every small and larger task,
For I know what you have need of,
Even long before you ask.

“With the people whom you meet,
You are sharing what you know.
You have let me be the artist
Of the canvas that you show.

“You are living by example,
Whether times are good or tough,
Through the knowing of your Spirit
That you always have enough.

“And the baseball game this evening,
I have given for your mind,
For your rest and entertainment,
As a balanced life you find.”

So, when I lay down at nighttime,
I thank God for closing day.
As with every step I took in faith,
He lead me on my way.

And I thank Him for the coming night
And peaceful, restful sleep,
And the Oneness of my soul with God,
In Whom I live and breathe.

For He knows what I have need of,
Long before I even ask!
By His Grace and Guidance I accomplish
Each appointed task!

The Good Book #Poem

Book, chapter and verse,
Some quote it impressively.
Do they live the Word?

Do they live the Word?
Shakespeare, Thoreau, Emerson…
Truth from any source.

Truth from any source!
Religions choose just a few;
Some leave out the heart.

Some leave out the heart,
But it’s all we really have
To discern the truth!

Our Nature #Poem

The writers of songs
And the makers of art,
The poetry’s poets
Seek beauty at heart.

We know who we are,
Or we’re trying to find
The meaning of life
And the Nature of mind.

The Mystics and Sages
Whose treasure is Light,
Discover the Truth
Of their Being inside.

It may take some time
To be noticed and heard;
Yet the seeker will find it,
The Light of the Word.

For the Word is your Spirit;
It’s not in a book.
You must journey within,
Not outside for a look.

Like the Mystics and Sages,
The artists and bards,
You’ll uncover the beauty
That dwells in your heart.

And this beautiful Nature
Is yours, free and clear,
When you claim the awareness
Right now and right here.

It’s your Light and your Treasure
That’s perfect and whole;
It’s the Truth of your Being
In heart, mind and soul!

Rock of Ages #Music

Download Mp3

Here is another traditional hymn played on zither (also called a lap harp or plucked psaltery). “Rock of Ages” was written by Rev. Augustus Toplady in 1763. The lyrics are based on Psalm 94:22, which reads, “But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.”

Though the account is unverified, it is said that Toplady was caught in a storm in the gorge of Burrington Combe, located in England’s Mendip Hills. It is believed he found shelter in the cleft of a rock and wrote the lyrics in gratitude for the Rock (the Almighty) that saved him.

I hope you enjoy this arrangement, which has rolled chords most often heard on harp.
