New Testament Quotations

from World English Bible (WEB)

But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
–Matthew 6:6

Being asked by the Pharisees when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom doesn’t come with observation; neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
–Luke 17:20-21

(…) that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.
–John 17:21

Knowing Alpha and Omega

Cling only to the God-Presence within you, because in Truth, there is nothing else!

People, don’t last. Things, don’t last. Relationships, don’t last. Financial security, doesn’t last. Created works, don’t last. Self-help, doesn’t last. Self-improvement, doesn’t last. Addiction, doesn’t last. The world, doesn’t last.

But God does! God-Mind is infinite and eternal. God-Spirit is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and end (Revelation 22:13), in and out, our waking up and our lying down… (Psalm 3:5) All of these God knows and sees and is, and beyond, God still is.

For this realization, we give thanks! We let it be so throughout our being – in body, heart, mind and soul! For it is God who has made us, and not we ourselves. (Psalm 100:3) And so it is!

On Being Christ-minded

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
–Philippians 2:5 (KJV)

As electrical current flows through a cord that is plugged into the outlet, let me be plugged into the Father, conduct the Holy Spirit, and be equal in mind to the anointed Christ! By the Power of God working in and through me, it is so. Amen.

What your Voice Reveals

“I can hear it in your voice.”

Someone who knows you well has probably told you this. And you may have been happy, but you probably felt vulnerable, exposed, and uncomfortable.

Our voices reveal a lot about us! Our thoughts, opinions, beliefs, self-image, feelings, emotions, and more flow through our voices. Not everyone consciously discerns them, just as many people don’t consciously project them. Nevertheless, there they are! The voice expresses our overall vibration and harmony, or dis-harmony as the case may be. By noticing what the voice has to say, through its quality, tone, rhythm, pitch, how we use it, etc., we can direct our awareness inward to restore and maintain wholeness.

The physical voice alone has no power or creative force. But there is an essence, cosmic consciousness, God, or Spirit, a natural intelligence that creates and sustains the voice. Through contact with this Higher Self, we move into the voice God has for us!

I offer these posts for contemplation and meditation. Your own truth and voice will come into your awareness if you open to it!

As St. Paul writes: My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, … Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
–1 Corinthians 2:4,13, World English Bible (WEB)

May the Spirit also speak to, and through you!

The Voice of God

I’ve often wondered why it seems some people talk, or should I say ramble on and on and on…, just to hear the sound of their own voices. And as is always the case, the truth is simple: People love to hear their own voices, because they are the Voice of God!

A bold statement, perhaps. But ultimately true.

IF God is the only Power and Presence in the Universe,
IF God lives within each creation,
and IF, whether we’re conscious of it or not, God speaks through each of us,

then every voice is the Voice of God!

You can’t control what others do with their God-given voices. But your real, eternal purpose is clear: Use your voice as a vehicle of God’s Presence, a tool, a helper to expand yours and others’ awareness of Truth.

And because you are speaking from the God-Presence within you, you know that when you strip away personal opinions, judgements, likes and dislikes, each voice you hear, including the one you’re blessed with, is the Voice of God made manifest.

There are many shapes, forms, incarnations and sounds, but one Presence within all of them! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1, World English Bible, WEB)

In order for the Word to be made flesh (John 1:14), there must be creation. There must appear to be separation, differences, various voices, and opposing sounds and forces. But these are limited perceptions.

Realizing our Higher, Christ Mind, we affirm: “…we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.” (1 Corinthians 2:13)

For this realization we give thanks, and freely speak from our Christ Mind. As Children of God, we let it be so.

And so it is!

The Fruitful Life, A Fable

Once upon a time, there was a ladder. It was so steep and so high that no one dared to climb it. It was steeper than a pitched roof. It was steeper than the top of a lighthouse or a pyramid. And it was so high that no one could see the top. Not even the tall giraffe who looked up and up and up with its long neck.

It wouldn’t have mattered, except that at the top of the ladder was something the animals needed. They needed fruit! And no one could help them get it.

The fruit was not falling down, but the animals were very hungry! Sometimes the birds and squirrels would shake the trees in their play, but the birds weren’t feeling playful. And the squirrels weren’t feeling kind. So, the fruit stayed on the trees.

The giraffe asked the birds, “Will you please help us?”

The birds just cawed, twittered and said no.

The lion roared at the squirrels, “Help us now!”

But the squirrels just tittered and laughed, “We will not help you!” They said, “We want to see if you can get your own fruit!”

Even the monkeys, who were usually very kind and generous, chattered and chattered in the trees as they swung from branch to branch. But they would not drop any fruit down to the other animals.

Then suddenly, there came a tiny sound. At first, no one heard it. And no one saw who was making it. The lion finally heard and saw the tiny mouse. He said, “Go away little mouse. You cannot help us here.”

The giraffe heard the mouse very faintly, for he was very tall. But he said, “Go away little mouse. You cannot help us here.”

But the mouse did not listen. mice never do, you know.

Instead, he ignored the other animals and focused on the fruit. Soon he began to climb the thin rungs of the ladder, and when he did, he discovered a wonderful thing! The ladder was made of rope!

Now, if there’s one thing mice love to do, it’s to chew things! So, the little mouse began to chew through the rope rungs.

“Stop! Stop!” cried the animals. “Do not destroy the ladder! How will we climb it again?”

But the mouse did not listen. Mice never do, you know.

He chewed and chewed and as he did, the wrung’s of the ladder fell down, down, down! As the rungs fell away one by one, the mouse clung to the sides of the ladder. Held steady by tree limbs at the top and boulders at the bottom, the side ropes did not budge.

The little mouse climbed and climbed, and chewed and chewed, leaving broken rope rungs behind him.

Finally, he reached the top of the ladder. All the rungs were gone, but the side ropes still held firm.

“Release the ropes!” the mouse called to the animals below.

“No!” they cried, “How will we ever climb up in the trees again?”

“I know!” the mouse shouted. “Trust me! Please, release the ropes!”

So, reluctantly, the animals shoved the boulders aside, and the ropes sprang free. Now the mouse was really excited!

The little mouse pulled and pulled on the ropes until they were all the way up high in the tree beside him. Then, he threw them over the branches. As he did, fruit began to rain down on the animals below!

“Hooray!” cheered the animals. “Thank you, Mouse!”

The little mouse smiled. “I only did what came naturally!”

Now, when the animals needed fruit, they could just pull the ropes, and fruit would be provided for them.

Because where there is a will, there is a way. Don’t believe me? Ask that little mouse, who heard his inner voice when it gave him the idea. He followed the guidance when his spirit told him the steps to take. And he saw it through until the goal was accomplished. He did what he was sent to do. It was all natural and part of a higher plan.

Wherever we are, God is there with us. And wherever we are, there’s a reason why. It is God’s reason, and His nature, our inner nature, will guide us through all things… If we just listen!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
–Proverbs 3:5-6 (NRSV)

You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
–Matthew 7:16-18 (NRSV)

Mindsong

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
–Philippians 2:5 (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
–Romans 12:2 (KJV)

The mind, the only instrument
Of truth and love and peace;
And thought, the only action played
To either start or cease.

So care well for the instrument
And music that it makes!
Though Spirit is eternal Life,
It’s thought that gives and takes.

In harmony the mind is tuned
To Heaven’s love and grace;
In discord are the thoughts that bind
And put a Hell in place.

So tune ye well the instrument
Of truth and love and peace!
And play the song of Heaven’s throng,
That makes the mind go free!

(Your Name is) Lyric

Out of the ground Yahweh God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.
–Genesis 2:19 )WEB)

For this reason we name our children and pets. When we create or invent something, we give it a name or a title. And some of us name certain possessions. Cars, ships and boats, and musical instruments are some things we specifically name.

It’s an interesting phenomenon. Naming an object personifies it, giving it human traits. It may also imply a relationship, ownership, an understanding of that thing, and usually a liking for it.

It’s good to name things. And whatever we name them, that’s what they’re called (see above). However, it’s important to remember that naming is a human activity. God creates, but does not name. In God-Mind there’s no need. All creations are already one with The Creator. So, creations and their names are extensions of God and His/Its names–which once again, are given by people.

What would happen if we consciously, deliberately named things?

What if names express the spirit, more than a physical characteristic.

In the Spirit of God-Presence being expressed through us, this song is a blessing upon everything ever named, and on your individual name.

Master

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
–Matthew 6:24 World English Bible (WEB)

A reminder to seek God’s Kingdom (Heaven within) first, and everything we need will be added (Matt. 6:33). And while we’re thankful for degrees, jobs, projects, our families, friends, and accomplishments in the world, we cannot serve the world and gain lasting security.

He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?
–Luke 9″23-25 (WEB)

With this knowing in my heart, I gratefully acknowledge my Master of Metaphysical Science degree (4/4/14). But the credit is not mine; without God working through me, I would not have this and indeed would not have Life at all.

Master

Not master of others
Or master of things,
I’m master of nothing,
For God is my King.

So deep in my Heart,
My Soul and my Mind,
I turn to the Master
Beyond space and time.

Not tied to a program
Conferring degrees,
The Lord of Creation
Is Master of me.

And all that “I do”
Is done by The One.
For Love is a river,
And through me it runs.

And when I can’t see Him,
I reach for the Truth,
For to master myself
He carries me through.

Not master of others
Or master of things,
I’m master of nothing,
For God is my King.
