Key Vibration

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

1. Cuore, Italian for heart,
Sounds like core, the center part.
Voce, voice that sings your song,
Use it wisely and keep it strong.
Refrain:

2. Anima, the soul is heard,
Beyond the mind of thoughts and words.
I accordo, in accord
With the Universal Source.
Refrain:

3. Cuore, voce, anima,
All of you within the One.
Open heart and voice and soul,
Be the beauty you want to behold.
Refrain:

The language of music and love evermore,
Your vibration is key to unlocking the door!

Refrain:
The language of music and love evermore,
Vibration is key to unlocking the door!

Tanka Experiment

ocean swirls and churns
feelings thought dead resurface
rumbles of desire
tides wash out unconsciousness
deposit new embraces

My first knowing try of this “female” Japanese form. I wrote some over a decade ago, but doubt I really understood the form. I’m not sure I understand it yet, but Toni is helping out over at

Eternal Symphony

silent in its softness
LOUD in its absence
musical in the unspoken, unsung
lyrical in expressive wisdom
harmonious through the world’s dissonance
BIG BANG of creation
unfolding of love

Probing Questions

Hurts, doesn’t it?
I shouldn’t touch that, should I?
How are we doing today?

Your questions jar me into awareness
so I can remember
that my pickles are not your pickles.

Your voice jars me open,
shattering the open jars
of my pickled brain.

Mystical Strings

The theme song for my ministry, practice, and website – Mystical Strings! The idea has been brewing since December, 2014, revisited along the way for snatches of music and lyrics. It has been so worth the wait for this song, which I like very much. But then, would I write a song I didn’t like? Probably not. πŸ™‚

1. Babies learn to walk,
And we encourage their strides.
As they sing and talk,
We overflow with delight.
While people are growing,
It goes ebbing away.
What’s the harm in showing
That we love them today?
Refrain:

2. Spirit put us right here,
Setting our time and place.
We can make it bright here
When we mirror Its face.
For we are the blessing
And the vessel of love.
Spirit is our essence;
Every person is One.
Refrain:

Oh! I want to see you shine!
I want to hear you sing!
Nurture with love and find
All of your mystical strings,
All of my mystical strings,
All of our mystical strings,
Because we are the mystical strings!

Refrain:
I want to see you shine!
I want to hear you sing!
Nurture with love and find
All of your mystical strings,
All of your mystical strings!

Blue Vibrations

Blue is my favorite color,
Though I really can’t say why.

I’ve never seen the ocean,
The flowers or the sky,
The hue of sweetest berries,
Or my child’s sparkling eyes.

But blue’s my favorite color,
And maybe I know why:

The peace of its vibration,
The healing it provides,
The grace so all-embracing,
A deeper touch than sight.

O blue’s my favorite color,
A blessing of the Light!

Like
Bryan’s “Awaken us to the Blue,”
this poem didn’t come immediately. I do love blue and always have. But no, I’ve never seen it. So, that got me wondering how I can say it’s my favorite color. Here you go,

Feel like Hell

A song of heaven and hell mystically understood.

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. Oh I have been to heaven,
And I have been to hell.
And in both places
I participated well!
So
Refrain:

2. Oh I have looked at goodness,
And I’ve lamented worse.
I’ve thought myself to blessings
And to a mental curse.
So
Refrain:

3. I’m more than what I think
And more than what I do.
I’m the Light of God-within!
So I just laugh and refuse
to
Refrain:

4. ‘Cause hell is just a feeling,
A state within the mind.
And heaven is another one
Where God and I combine.
So
Refrain:

No, I don’t have to take it!
Just as well,
No, I don’t have to make it!
I can see a churn and watch a burn that sets my mind on fire,
Or break away into the shade ’cause I am not required
To feel like hell!

Refrain:
feel like hell!
No, I don’t have to take it!
Just as well,
No, I don’t have to make it!
I can see a churn and watch a burn that sets my mind on fire,
Or break away into the shade ’cause I am not required
To feel like hell!

Offer up Your Trust

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. The artist paints a canvas
With colors of all kinds.
The light of inspiration
Iluminates her mind.
The Source of all creation
Is beating in her heart.
The paintings just get better
When Love directs the art.
So
Refrain:

2. The cook works like it’s playtime
To gather, mix, and fold.
And everyone he honors says
It’s beauty to behold.
He serves to nourish body
And touch the mind and soul.
Love shines within his cooking
As a gift to keep us whole.
So
Refrain:

3. Each lifetime is a picture,
A banquet table fine.
Activities a-plenty
We do and intertwine.
Each duty we are called to
Is a blessing so divine.
Through eyes of Love we come to see
The Spirit deep inside.
So
Refrain: (Twice)

Offer up your trust.

Refrain:
Let the Spirit open you,
Filling you with Love
Over and above.
And make your heart a token, too.
Give yourself with Love;
Offer up your trust.

Shapes of Practice

Circles, squares,
Poems, Prayers!
Weaving, writing,
Creating, inviting!

Lessons, reading,
Learning, eating!
Feeding body, mind and soul
With the work I love to hold,

Only then to give away
The things that fill each joyous day
To someone needing comfort, care–
In weaving, writing,
Circles, squares!

I always enjoy Walt’s prompts over at
dVerse,
and this one is no exception. We’re asked to write of either drought or deluge. I’ve experienced both on many levels, and each takes a different art of balancing! This current deluge is a positive one. πŸ™‚
