Children’s Songs on Lyre with Bow

Here are some familiar children’s songs on lyre with bow. They are easier to play than some other tunes, and the pentatonic lyre makes it easier still. But make no mistake, this bow still has a huge learning curve!

Tunes:

Hot Cross Buns

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

London Bridge

Mary had a Little Lamb

Row Row Row Your Boat

Lyre: Pentatonic 7-string with Pickaso Guitar Bow

Tuning: D4, E4, F#4, G4, A4, B4, D5

Grant us Love – BJL Lyres

This is a tune I wrote called Grant Us Love. Here is the simple melody played on 7-string pentatonic lyre, both plucked and with Pickaso Guitar Bow.

Tuning: D4, E4, F#4, G4, A4, B4, D5. Note: If you play the melody without harmony, you can play in the standard G major pentatonic tuning of D4, E4, G4, A4, B4, D5, E5.

Arrangement on 16-string solid body lyre.

Double strung arrangement on 2 19-string acoustic lyres.

Longing – Revisited on Lyres

Here is an original instrumental entitled Longing. Played first on BJL 16-string solid body lyre.

Instrumental with flute, etc.

And on my little 7-string pentatonic lyre, now tuned to D major pentatonic, instead of its original tuning of G Major pentatonic. This only requires re-tuning one string.

The same pentatonic lyre with Pickaso Guitar Bow.

On Lynda Lyre with nylon strings, taking advantage of the lower range.

Back to steel strings… Double strung arrangement on 2 BJL 19-string acoustic lyres. Enjoy the ringing strings!
