Happy Birth Day – Song

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

Refrain:
Happy birthday
To the Truth in you!

1. Your birthday is your earth day this run through,
A good time to remind yourself
What really makes you you,
A perfect day to celebrate
The Infinite in you.
Your birthday is your earth day this run through.
Refrain:

2. Your birthday is a way to mark your life,
And move you on the path that’s drawn
By God who knows the rhyme
And reason for the season
You are living in this time.
Your birthday is a way to mark your life.
Refrain:

3. Your birthday is a mirth day for your soul
That knows your place in time and space
And what you’re here to show.
The Infinite is still in it,
O you are not alone.
Your birthday is a mirth day for your soul.
Refrain: (Twice)

Trinity

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. On earth and sea and in the sky,
We live and move and breathe.
Yet taking from them as we do,
We separate the three.
The Tree of Life and all its limbs
Are rooted in the Deep
Creative Mind where all abides,
Including you and me.
Refrain:

2. The body, mind and spirit,
Your holistic sacred three,
Yet even as we care for them,
We look at specialties.
The body of the physical,
The mind’s activity,
The precious soul that’s yours alone
And makes your life complete.
Refrain:

3. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The Christian Trinity,
Yet who they are and what they do,
Not everyone agrees.
If we would look inside and trust,
Then we might plainly see
The greatness of the boundless Love
That brings it all to be.
Refrain:

O keep in mind the oneness link
Connecting every part.

Refrain:
We specialize and criticize,
Just knowing one small piece.
We label, compartmentalize,
And work to find relief.
But there’s a kink in what we think
And every box we mark.
We fast forget the oneness link
Connecting every part.

The Truth We Tell

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. Knowledge is amazing,
And the mind is like a sponge.
It soaks up information
Every time we take a plunge.
But knowledge, it is meaningless
Without the One True Guide.
So let a greater Mind than this
Direct the learning tide!
Refrain:

2. The work we do is critical;
We have a purpose here.
And when we give our very best,
Success is always near.
But we are not machines to push
For games and greed and guile.
O may we serve the Universe
And touch the inner sky!
Refrain:

3. We’re dressing up and acting out
Without the Star of Love.
The curtain’s closed, and all is dark.
Then shines a Light above!
The part we play on any stage,
This whole identity,
Is fleeting till we claim the Truth
And let It set us free!
Refrain:

Releasing pain and fear
To fill us with the Light!

Refrain:
‘Cause the truth we tell is fact,
but black and white make grey.
There’s more to us than that;
O let us find the Way!
Eternal Love so clear
Is burning deep inside,
Releasing pain and fear
To fill us with the Light!

One Spirit

Is the Trinity Real?
A Mystical View

I have written about the “members” of the Trinity myself – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. However, there comes a point in mystical awareness where even the Trinity falls away, and you are left with Oneness! A religious person might feel shaken that the doctrine of the Trinity has shattered. But those with mystical awareness hold to the Spirit, and are grateful for the ever deepening realization of Truth.

Infinite means without beginning and without end. Nothing is separate from or outside of the Infinite.

“There is One Infinite Spirit and every time man says, “I am” he proclaims it.”
–Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind, p. 323

We pray unto the Father
And put hope in the Son;
We ask the Holy Spirit
To fill each heart that comes.

But there is something Higher,
A Truth of Love and Light:
The one eternal Power,
The Source and Breath of Life.

Indeed there is a Father
And Christ the Son of Love;
A gentle Holy Spirit,
Descending like a dove.

But names fall short of Allness
And things that can’t be seen,
And texts of sacred knowledge
Are puzzles incomplete.

The wholeness of the Presence,
The Father-Spirit-Son,
Is not three separate powers,
But infinitely One!

So when you call on something,
Look gently deep inside
And seek the Highest Kingdom,
The Presence that abides!

Reacting out of Fear

We act out of fear. We do. And the really frightening thing is that we don’t even realize it. It’s normal, knee-jerk, habitual, unconscious, patterned. It’s the snappy comebacks, the words we blurt without thinking, because we’ve blurted them so many times before.

I dare say fear is ritualistic. Religiously we let it rule, just as some of us go to church, kneel, light candles, say prayers, and of course, leave the church with a sigh of relief that now we feel better and can live our lives as we please, in habitual, unconscious fear.

In what situations do you regularly react out of fear? Speaking to children? Commiserating with friends? Arguing with your spouse, partner, co-workers? Tearing down someone’s ideas?

What words do you use?

How do you feel, in your heart, in your gut?

What thoughts are you thinking?

What triggers fear for you?

In recognizing our own personal fearful patterns, we can bring them to the surface. Not to judge or criticize or beat ourselves up for having them! But to heal, replace with positive new patterns, and move on.

As usual I recommend meditation – a few moments spent giving up the personal ego, limited mind that fears, and reclaiming the God Consciousness within you. Meditation itself can be a ritual, and not a positive one, unless you’re fully engaged, with your entire being. This means mind, body, heart, soul. All your wonderful and varied aspects working as one, for at onement with your Spirit (spiritual) Nature.

I could tell you how to meditate. But my version may not work for you. And if it doesn’t, you may fear meditation… It’s not a certain meditative experience you’re after here. It’s a serene sense of knowing, beyond thought, beyond words, beyond feelings and emotions – meeting your Maker, your Self, within You.

And here, there is no fear. When the meditation time is finished, you still contain the Presence. And with awareness, intention, and focus, seeking the Presence on purpose as often as needed, you can respond positively to life situations.

Cookie Song

Why not sit down with some cookies and a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa for this one? Eat, drink, and be meditative. Who says it can’t be fun? 🙂

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

1. Baking yummy cookies, takes a lot of time.
Mixing up ingredients, and measuring just right,
Rolling out and thinning dough, and smoothing all the lumps,
Pressing down the cutters, making sure they don’t get stuck.
Refrain:

2. Cookies are a harvest, of patience, love and faith.
Effort is rewarded, with sweets to give and take.
Gobbled up so quickly, or savored nice and slow,
Every single cookie says, we’re made with love to show.
Refrain:

3. Sometimes there are cookies, we say aren’t good enough,
Maybe burnt or broken, maybe hard or rough.
Though every one is different, they are cookies just the same,
Some unique and special treat, a blessing to create.
Refrain:

Like those cookies, each of us is better for the storm.

Refrain:
Eat your cookies, with a thankful heart.
Eat your cookies, let them do their part
To show that love is always there, it’s just in different forms.
It’s mixed and rolled and baked and iced, for cookies soft and warm.
And like those cookies, each of us is better for the storm.

More Great Expectations

The Truth About More
– Continued

TO get all the MORE you’ve been asking God for,
This question is key to supply:
“Now who’ has the floor and who’s keeping the score?”
The answer just might change your life…

The personal mind, you may come to find,
Has strings tightly bound to the earth.
The things it demands into its open hands
Are fine, but in time lose their worth.

One MORE we expect, and another reject
For not painting the picture we hold.
But the color in store could be better than yours;
You will know as the showing unfolds.

So to get all the MORE you’ve been asking God for,
Remember He knows what you need.
And the you on the floor that is keeping the score
Is proven illusion indeed.

[And] may your work be a labor of love.
May you serve the Father in peace.
So on Earth as in Heaven above,
Giving thanks while planting the seeds.

1. Take heart, take heart,
And do your part
To plant the fertile ground.
He knows, He knows
Where water flows
And ready soil abounds.
Refrain:

2. You ask, you ask
And do the task
That God has planned for you.
He lives, He lives
And through you gives
The harvest of good fruit.
Refrain:

3. Each day, each day
You go your way.
O take the path of Light.
And do, and do
Your labor true
With heart and soul and mind.
Refrain:

4. You see, you see
The tiny seed
With miracles inside.
It grows, it grows,
It flow’rs and shows
The blooming of a life.

Come unto Me – Metaphysical Song

The Truth About More

“Please, Sir, I want some more.”

These famous, or is it infamous?, words were spoken by Charles Dickens’ character, Oliver Twist. In this part of the novel, a small boy lives at school and wants more than the supper allowed by the Board.

An uproar ensues, and Oliver will either be hung, or sent off as an apprentice to anyone, of any caliber, who pays 5 pounds for him. The bottom line is that the school would rather be rid of the child than give him more food.

How great it is that our Master always offers more!

Many times we block it, unfortunately. But more is always offered to us by God the Father.

More love, more peace, more happiness, more fulfillment, more joy in carrying out our purpose… More of the best things in life! More is always available to us!

But we must do as Oliver did: We must ask for more!

The Father knows what we need, even before we ask. However, asking opens the universal floodgates fully, releasing a deluge of abundance that we could never imagine or orchestrate on our own!

And when we ask for more, it must be with the expectation, the belief, the knowing and feeling that indeed, more does exist already. And we can have it!

Not have it to hoard, worry over, save, or keep for a rainy day. But to steward, distribute, share, and enjoy. To expand it by adding our energy, and share the expansion with others.

Because, after all, there is always enough, yes, and infinitely more besides!

God did not create us to be poor! Poverty is not a virtue. On the contrary, prosperity is a virtue, especially when the best Master ever is given the credit.

God did not make us to be poor for him. He made us to be rich in all ways, aspects and areas of life!

We can have a consciousness, an attitude, and a mindset of poverty, lack, need, and finite resources. But whom does that serve? It serves only that mindset, making it even more real to us! This is a consciousness of “evil.”

So, what if we were to change our consciousness? Transmute it to abundance, riches, prosperity, possibility, and unlimited resources? Whom would that serve? God, that’s who!

The Universe is constantly changing, evolving and expanding. And who powers it all? God does! So, when we are rich, it is to more fully manifest God’s presence in the world. We serve a great Master who wants each of His creations to be and have more!

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
–Matthew 7:7-12 (NKJV)

Now are you ashamed to ask for more?
