Eternal Pie

The slices of the pie
Are seconds of your life,
They’re areas you see,
And places where you strive.

But narrowing the whole,
You only see a part,
A tiny piece of pie,
A sliver just to start…

A start and that is all;
The pie of life is grand!
It serves the Universe
And fills each outstretched hand.

The pie to end all pies,
Eternity of God,
Is sliced up into bits…:
YOU choose the slice you got!

You choose and choose again
The slices that you want.
Eternity is here;
The pie is yours to cut!

Seasons of Song

Born on a late Fall evening;
Told I could grow and fly.
Fingers and wings were strengthened;
That’s when I learned to cry.

Resting in Winter’s snowstorms,
Darkness so wide and deep…
There was a star to follow,
Waking my heart from sleep.

Blooming as buds in Springtime,
Reaching up toward the sun,
Knowing I had the Spirit;
Letting God’s music run.

All Summer long together,
Everything dry and bright.
Fires were quenched and started,
Flings of the dying light.

Fall is again upon us,
Breezes that warn of chill;
Mind, body, soul transforming…
Cycles within His will!

Threads of Creativity

I want to write a poem,
But all I can do is play –
I play with words,
I play with music;
I play with threads.

And it feels good.
I warp;
I weave.
I un-weave.
I’ve even un-warped a time or two.

But I always warp again,
Setting up a new frame of reference.
And I weave some more,
Entwining thread after thread…
Over…
Under…
Over…
Under…

Weaving a life,
A picture,
A song.

Is it threads?
Or is it words?
Or is it notes?

It doesn’t matter.
It’s all rhythm,
All energy,
All thought,
All creativity,
Vibrating and singing through me.

I want to write a poem.
But I can’t.
All I can do is weave one.
And so I do.

What your Voice Reveals

“I can hear it in your voice.”

Someone who knows you well has probably told you this. And you may have been happy, but you probably felt vulnerable, exposed, and uncomfortable.

Our voices reveal a lot about us! Our thoughts, opinions, beliefs, self-image, feelings, emotions, and more flow through our voices. Not everyone consciously discerns them, just as many people don’t consciously project them. Nevertheless, there they are! The voice expresses our overall vibration and harmony, or dis-harmony as the case may be. By noticing what the voice has to say, through its quality, tone, rhythm, pitch, how we use it, etc., we can direct our awareness inward to restore and maintain wholeness.

The physical voice alone has no power or creative force. But there is an essence, cosmic consciousness, God, or Spirit, a natural intelligence that creates and sustains the voice. Through contact with this Higher Self, we move into the voice God has for us!

I offer these posts for contemplation and meditation. Your own truth and voice will come into your awareness if you open to it!

As St. Paul writes: My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, … Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
–1 Corinthians 2:4,13, World English Bible (WEB)

May the Spirit also speak to, and through you!

I Invoke

I call upon the Spirit of All,
Welcome the Creator of Creation,
Channel the Love of Life itself,
Set upon the Universal Mind,
Cultivate the Consciousness of heart-centered Peace;
I invoke God.

From within me
And through me
God comes forth,
Flowing,
Showing,
Loving,
Knowing,
Making known,
And being known.

Imparting in Silence,
Seeing in Sight,
Focusing Thought,
Speaking in Word,
God invokes us,
Calling us forth,
Higher, deeper, wider…

For as we invoke God,
We are invoked by God,
Eternally one,
In Spirit,
Soul,
Heart,
Mind,
Body,
And Voice,
Invoked by the Spirit of All.
–And so it is!

Truth in Humor

Three more Limericks,
because humor often contains truth!

O just look at the glorious sky
Streaming beauty that money can’t buy!
We are not here to trade
Any gift God has made,
But to praise him for all he supplies!

There was a young someone from Mars
Who came to Earth looking for stars
First you and then me
And with each person seen
The creature proclaimed, “Here they are!”

Bless’d Spirit of things metaphysical!
And the mind with its limits, so quizical!
Now the spiritual gift
To the mind is a lift
And the breaking of chains analizical!

Blank Reason

For
~Morgan~,
my favorite sometimes-rambling poet. ❤

Ok, I'm going to do this ___.
Why?
Because ___
But you need ___
And logically ___ would work better.

So I guess logic has won out, again.
I do the sensible thing,
Because ___,
And because my intuition didn't make sense.

But now I feel bereft,
Betrayed,
Bedraggled,
Befuddled,
Bestranged (no apologies)

Why?
Because logic has a way of being
Logical,
Reasonable,
Sensible,
Intellectual,
Analytical,
And dry!

It gets all its ducks in a row,
Methodically
By letter,
Shape,
Number,
Size,
O but that one's not allowed
Because___

And the ducks are never happy!

And without fail,
So I guess that means successfully,
Logic chokes off the voice of the Spirit.

And without fail,
So again, successfully,
Reason
Strips the poem of its rhyme,
The song of its sweetness,
And, dare I say it?,
O heck why not?,
Nature of its wonder
And the mind of its sight!

Yet there is good news,
And I'd better get to it,
Because logically this poem is much too long!

The good is this:
It's only temporary,
And it isn't really gone!

What?
Logic is a veil.
But what you can't see behind it,
Is still behind it!

The Beyond,
Is still Beyond!

The Transcendent,
Still transcends the logical,
Reasonable,
Sensible human mind!

And Thank God!
Because the human mind
Knows nothing,
Even when,
O and especially when,
It thinks it knows it all!

And In God's Mind
The ducks,
Every last one,
Without fail,
And truly successfully,
Even the ugly ones,
You know, the logically imperfect ducklings,
Each and every duck,
In its row or not,
Is blissfully happy!

So happy
They cry,
But they cry with joy!

So the next time logic asks you
Why:
Don't answer it with its own medicine
Being all sensible,
Reasonable,
Intellectual,
Analytical
And all that other stuff
(Thank you, dictionary)
Don't spew the logical antibiotic
That kills all things
Without fail,
That is, successfully!

Let the Spirit speak,
Inspire,
Decide,
Act.

Because like someone I can't remember said,
"All shall be well,
And all shall be well,
And all shall be well!"

Free verse indeed,
And so it is!

The Mind of Shame

If we honor all things,
Do we feel shame?

If we have self-respect,
Are we humiliated?

If we offer glory,
Are we disgraced?

If we feel esteem,
Is there any indignity?

If we see God in all things,
Is there also degradation?

God is Love,
Joy,
Peace,
Power,
Beauty,
Light,
And Life itself!

The ego causes “less than”
And always chooses separation.

Shame,
Humiliation,
Disgrace,
Indignity,
Degradation…

All rotten fruits of the ego!
It sows “less than”
And reaps… more “less than!”

But with God
Each man, each woman, each creation
Is a temple
Of honor,
Self-respect,
Glory,
Esteem–

Not for itself
Or the personal identity,
But for the Universal Life
That we are blessed to BE,
And to LIVE!

The choice is yours and mine:
Do we cultivate the mind of shame within us?
Or the Mind of God!

This Life Path

The cherry tree stood tall and proud
And scattered blossoms far and wide
Until a whirling, swirling storm
Upset the tree upon its side.

The cherry tree was hard and old.
Its life was long and strength was true.
But this was just a chapter’s end;
The tree would have another use.

A spruce fell in that hurricane;
Its softer heart was taken fast.
But turning yet another page,
The spruce continued on its path.

The spruce and cherry met one day,
Both dried and sanded, cut and shaped.
The spruce was top, the cherry back:
An instrument they came to make!

So little do we know and see
Where we are meant to go…
But deep inside there shines a Spark,
The All there Is, that knows!

No one can choose a path for you
Or hand down what is right.
For like the trees you ebb and flow
With God as guiding Light.

Within you always, Pure and True,
If you will only knock
And open up your weary mind:
Its Center is the Rock.
