He Slumbers Not

He slumbers not, aye, though I sleep,
The God who does my soul inspire.
Awake to peace and order keep,
He slumbers not, aye, though I sleep.
When in the darkest hour I weep,
He breathes upon the inner fire.
He slumbers not, aye, though I sleep,
The God who does my soul inspire.

One Body, Individualized

There is one body.
It appears as many,
But really it is one.

The body of the Universe,
The form of Cosmic Intelligence,
The Temple of God:
One body, one manifestation,
Individualized.

O, how we think we’re our own!
Independent,
Self-sufficient,
Off the grid,
Living off the land…
“My body, my decision.
My body, my self!”

Except it’s not!
It is The Body,
You are The Body,
Undivided,
In divid U al,
You ni verse, Spirit, God
And all manifestations
Of Self!

How callous,
Selfish,
Disconnected,
Narrow-minded,
Limiting
TO think “I am myself.
I am my identity,
My body,
My gender,
My roles,
And I govern my life!”

I do not govern anything!
I am complete within myself
Only
Because I am One with God.
I am a microcosm
Of the macrocosm
That is All there is!

And for this,
For dependence,
For One Body,
For Life,
Love,
Cosmic intelligence,
Creation;
Created
By One, as One,
For One Life individualized:
I give thanks!
–And so it is!

One Spirit

Is the Trinity Real?
A Mystical View

I have written about the “members” of the Trinity myself – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. However, there comes a point in mystical awareness where even the Trinity falls away, and you are left with Oneness! A religious person might feel shaken that the doctrine of the Trinity has shattered. But those with mystical awareness hold to the Spirit, and are grateful for the ever deepening realization of Truth.

Infinite means without beginning and without end. Nothing is separate from or outside of the Infinite.

“There is One Infinite Spirit and every time man says, “I am” he proclaims it.”
–Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind, p. 323

We pray unto the Father
And put hope in the Son;
We ask the Holy Spirit
To fill each heart that comes.

But there is something Higher,
A Truth of Love and Light:
The one eternal Power,
The Source and Breath of Life.

Indeed there is a Father
And Christ the Son of Love;
A gentle Holy Spirit,
Descending like a dove.

But names fall short of Allness
And things that can’t be seen,
And texts of sacred knowledge
Are puzzles incomplete.

The wholeness of the Presence,
The Father-Spirit-Son,
Is not three separate powers,
But infinitely One!

So when you call on something,
Look gently deep inside
And seek the Highest Kingdom,
The Presence that abides!

More Great Expectations

The Truth About More
– Continued

TO get all the MORE you’ve been asking God for,
This question is key to supply:
“Now who’ has the floor and who’s keeping the score?”
The answer just might change your life…

The personal mind, you may come to find,
Has strings tightly bound to the earth.
The things it demands into its open hands
Are fine, but in time lose their worth.

One MORE we expect, and another reject
For not painting the picture we hold.
But the color in store could be better than yours;
You will know as the showing unfolds.

So to get all the MORE you’ve been asking God for,
Remember He knows what you need.
And the you on the floor that is keeping the score
Is proven illusion indeed.

Self-blessing

This is a self-blessing song, inspired by blessing and Chakra-cleansing rituals. Authors include Z Budapest, Diane Stein, and Dianne Sylvan. But while those are Goddess/woman-centered, this song is for everyone. It is my own interpretation and uses only the same body points as these rituals.

You could do this as a meditation any time, as a song, poem, or however it fits into your spiritual practice. It could be a weekly, monthly, New or Full Moon, or celebration ritual. It is most important to be mindful whenever and wherever you do any meditation – simply performing a ritual or routine practice doesn’t make you more aware in itself.

Self-blessing

Crown:
Bless me for I am Your child,
In Your image, all supplied.
Live through me, that I may grow,
Ever greater Love to show.

Third Eye:
Bless my eyes that I may see
One in All and You in me.
Light my mind and point of view,
Bringing me Your thoughts of Truth.

Throat:
Bless my voice so that I say
Words of kindness through the day.
May my breath and every sound
Vibrate sweetly all around.

Heart:
Bless my heart that I may love
In communion as the doves.
All-embracing without fear,
Your compassion gathered here.

Solar Plexus:
Bless my center, sacred core,
Intuition, trust and more.
May each feeling be a guide
To Your Spirit deep inside.

Belly/navel:
Bless my belly, soft and warm,
Healed of hurt and safe from harm.
May desire be for the best,
Your creation manifest.

Listen

Not so much a doing
As an allowing
Let it be
Let it flow around you
Within you
Through you

Take it in
Without thought
Without judgement
With ease

We hear
But rarely listen
It’s no wonder the quiet seems so harsh!
It’s because we don’t know how to respond
How to listen

We hear sound
And inside we feel it
We sense it around us
When we are truly at ease

Active listening?
That speaks judgement
Rat race thoughts
Opinions
Editorializing

What we need is
Passive listening
Flowing effortlessly
To and from us
Within and around us
Over and through us
And the ability to be comfortable with that

The Universe listens
The Earth listens
The Sky listens
God listens
So why can’t we?

Peace
Be still
Listen!

Dreamkeeper – A Collaboration

A Sunday bonus, written in collaboration with Morgan of
Book N Volume.

Morgan is a prolific author and poet of The Fey, nature, magic, fantasy, beauty, the human spirit, and more. She graciously extended an open invitation to write with her, and I was drawn to the opportunity. I’d been working on this song; I had the melody and first verse lyrics at that point.

This could very well be, as first glance seems, a lullaby for babies. But it is also more. My original intention was to write a cradling song for those who experience insomnia. When I shared this with her, Morgan shone her lyrical brilliance in what became our middle verses here.

Those mystically oriented will notice something – it’s not just about going to sleep and sleeping well. It’s a lullaby, a reminder of Promise from the Divine Parent of the Universe. It is the shifting tide of consciousness from “monkey mind” to awakening, expanding awareness. With that I will say no more; may you enjoy the gentle embrace we intended!

Thank you, Morgan, for your thought, time, and above all your Spirit, kindness, and sensitivity!

Dreamkeeper – Lyrics

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

Go to sleep, Beloved
One in the Spirit of moon and stars.
Slumber full of blessings
Dreams wake in your heart
Dreams wake in your heart.

Precious Child, My Own
Radiant Light O’er Thy Head is Shone.
Blessings Pour from Heav’n Above
Dreams of Peace and Love
Dreams of Peace and Love.

Rest your thoughts in Moonlit Waves
Fret not, nor question why.
Drift upon the Peaceful Night
Nod your head and Sigh
Nod your head and Sigh.

You are my Beloved
How could you ever be less than safe?
Nestled in my keeping
Dream your Self awake
Dream your Self awake.

Go to sleep, Beloved.

Gathered Here

Some people meet in churches
And synagogues and mosques;
They gather all together
To praise and worship God.

Still others meet on hillsides
In storefronts or in tents;
They share their adoration
For God who gives them breath.

Religion and community
Have been so linked, so long
That people who do not subscribe
Are often seen as wrong…

Still, people sit down quietly
Or make a joyful sound
To bring their own awareness to
The God-within they found.

No matter where you gather;
As one or many more,
Remember that the Spirit
Of Everything, is Yours!
